James Madison University
Longwood University
Norfolk State University
Radford University

Virginia Commonwealth University

For information about all other senior institutions for which Reynolds has transfer agreements, but not specifically for teacher preparation, visit the Guaranteed Transfer page under Get Started.

Required Tests
It is recommended that the Core Academic Skills for Educators and the Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment—VCLA be taken one semester prior to your last semester at Reynolds (i.e. if you are on a two-year plan, then tests should be taken the fall of the second year). You may use other assessments in the place of all or part of the Praxis I. View the possible substitutions for the Core Academic Skills for Educators. Other tests (Praxis II and Reading for Virginia Educators- RVE) should be taken as recommended by your senior (transfer) institution.

Field Experiences
Field experiences are extremely important in preparing pre-service teachers for the classroom. Reynolds' Pre-Teacher Education Program requires a total of 50 (fifty) hours of field experience. Students enrolled in SDV 101 Orientation to Teacher Preparation are required to complete 10 (ten) field experience hours. Students enrolled in EDU 200 Introduction to Teaching as a Profession must complete 40 (forty) field experience hours.
